Counsellor

SLAXIN LELUM

I am a empathic and dedicated counsellor with a Bachelor’s Degree in Counselling and specialized training in Indigenous-focused healing approaches. I hold certification in Indigenous-Focused Orientating Therapy (IFOT) and am a Certified Canadian Addiction Counsellor Candidate through the CACCF. I am also currently expanding my practice through advanced training in Somatic Therapy, deepening my understanding of the mind-body connection and trauma-informed healing.

My approach to counselling is rooted in respect, cultural humility, and the belief that healing occurs through connection—to ourselves, our communities, the land, and our ancestral stories. Drawing on both professional training and lived experience, I strive to create a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental space where individuals feel heard, valued, and empowered in their healing journey.

As a proud Cree, Carrier and Norwegian descent Indigenous woman, I integrate holistic perspectives that honour emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual well-being. Beyond my professional work, I am a proud mother and grandmother who values family, community, and lifelong learning.
